Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan agreed to establish a permanent secretariat in Saudi Arabia after the first meeting of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement’s Strategic Political and Defence Committee in Istanbul. A Pakistani secretary-general will initially lead the body for a three-year term. The three governments said they will pursue joint activities to improve military cohesion, expand defense-industry cooperation, develop shared technology and undertake joint production. Their joint statement said the steps are intended to strengthen solidarity and collective deterrence while supporting de-escalation and peaceful crisis resolution.
