India’s August GST Collections Rise 14.8% to Nearly ₹2 Trillion

India’s gross goods and services tax collections reached ₹1,99,853 crore in August, up 14.8% from ₹1,74,116 crore a year earlier. Domestic revenue rose 9.3% to ₹1,37,249 crore, while import-linked receipts climbed 29% to ₹62,604 crore. Refunds increased 67.9% to ₹31,795 crore, leaving net GST revenue at ₹1,68,057 crore, 8.3% higher year on year. Gross collections for April through August reached ₹10,42,757 crore, an 11% increase from the same period of the previous fiscal year. Maharashtra collected ₹28,779 crore, Karnataka ₹14,148 crore and Gujarat ₹12,047 crore.
