An Amazon Air Boeing 767-300 operated by 21 Air overran a runway at Miami International Airport at about 2 p.m. Sunday after arriving from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Miami-Dade officials said the aircraft struck vehicles and caught fire, killing five people and sending five others to hospitals, three in critical condition and two with less severe injuries. Fire Chief Ray Jadallah said crews extricated people from the cockpit and vehicles while roughly 200 emergency personnel responded. The FAA said it will investigate; authorities had not yet determined the cause or clarified whether those killed were aboard the plane or in vehicles.
