Madhya Pradesh authorities confirmed 10 deaths after residents of Naoroja and Ghughra Khurd villages in Sagar district allegedly consumed illicit liquor. Collector Pratibha Pal said about 35 people were brought to hospitals, with serious patients transferred to Bundelkhand Medical College and Sagar District Hospital. Initial findings from two or three post-mortems suggested possible methyl-alcohol exposure, but final forensic results had not established the cause. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered an immediate investigation and strict action; officials detained some people for questioning, closed liquor shops as a precaution, collected samples, and sent teams to screen affected villages.
