Kenya Gives Foreign Traders 90 Days to Regularise Business Status

Kenya has given foreign nationals conducting business 90 days to regularise their immigration status, work permits, business registration and licensing. State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said agencies would coordinate the exercise with affected embassies and administer requirements fairly and without discrimination before firm enforcement begins under law and due process. President William Ruto also directed officials to expand the Local Content Bill, 2025 to define small-scale activities that may be reserved for Kenyans while protecting foreigners legally entitled to work, invest and trade. The government said private groups may not harass or interfere with foreign businesses.
