Skapion Raises $36M to Build Counter-Drone Swarm System

Skapion, an Israeli defense technology startup with R&D in Ramat Gan, raised $36 million in seed funding to develop a mobile counter-swarm system for mass drone attacks. The round was co-led by UP Partners and Khosla Ventures, with Fusion VC, Stratos Ventures, TBD VC and q Fund participating. The company says cheap one-way UAVs have exposed a gap in conventional air defense, because militaries can be forced to spend expensive interceptors against coordinated low-cost threats. Its founders include Israeli air-defense veterans, among them Brig. Gen. (Res.) Pini Yungman, linked to Iron Dome and David's Sling, and the funding will support engineering, validation, hiring and defense-customer work in Israel, the United States and allied countries.
