The Health Ministry ordered residents throughout Karmiel to boil water before drinking, cooking, preparing medicine or brushing teeth after abnormal drinking-water sampling results. The ministry said the water may still be used for bathing and sanitation. The directive remains in effect until further notice. The ministry's official notice was published at 12:36 p.m. and signed by spokeswoman Shira Solomon. The notice did not identify the contaminant, quantify the sampling results, name affected neighborhoods or provide a timetable for lifting the requirement.
