Army Schedules Fort Hood Shooter Nidal Hasan's Execution for December 3

The Army has scheduled Nidal Hasan's execution by firing squad for December 3, 2026, at 1 p.m. Central Standard Time at Fort Hood, Texas. Acting Army Secretary Adam R. Telle announced the date in an official post and a signed October 6 memorandum directing the execution. The memorandum says the president approved the adjudged death sentence on October 2 and designates the commandant of the United States Disciplinary Barracks as execution officer. A Pentagon spokesperson said Hasan killed 13 people at Fort Hood in 2009.
