Iraq began applying a new dollar exchange-rate structure on October 7, with a rate of 1,520 Iraqi dinars per dollar for the public and end beneficiaries. The central bank set its purchase rate for dollars from the Finance Ministry at 1,500 dinars and its selling rate to licensed commercial banks at 1,510 dinars per dollar. The change follows Cabinet Resolution 544 of 2026, adopted on October 6. The central bank instructed licensed banks, exchange companies and electronic-payment companies to update their systems and service channels, notify branches and stop using the preceding rate.
