Lieberman and Golan Clash Over Opposition Campaign Strategy

Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman and Democrats chair Yair Golan traded public attacks over the opposition’s election strategy and a future coalition. Lieberman said Golan’s calls to discuss a Palestinian state and evacuating settlements helped Netanyahu, and ruled out giving the Democrats the defense, public security or justice portfolios. He said the opposition bloc could draw missing mandates from Likud without Netanyahu. Golan accused Lieberman of repeating Netanyahu campaign messages, said opposition parties could either fight and hand Netanyahu another term or work together to win, then argue inside the government.
