EU Urges Israel to Halt Judea and Samaria Settlement Expansion

The European Union on Friday urged Israel to refrain from further settlement expansion, legalizing outposts, land appropriation, demolitions and evictions in Judea and Samaria. Its diplomatic service said such steps undermine the viability of a two-state solution. The statement followed Israel's security cabinet approval of NIS 1.3 billion for infrastructure and pioneer neighborhoods across 34 new communities, nine in Samaria, seven in Binyamin, four in the Hebron area, seven in the Jordan Valley, six in Gush Etzion and one in Megilot. The plan would bring the current government's total to 103 approved communities.
