Argentina to File Criminal Charges Against Israel’s Navitas Over Falklands Drilling

Argentina’s government announced that Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, represented by Treasury Procurator Sebastián Amerio, will file a criminal complaint against Navitas Petroleum entities, JHI Associates and Eco (Atlantic) over oil activity north of the Falkland Islands. The announcement says the action also targets responsible directors and managers, and alleges that UK-issued licenses violate Argentine Law 26.659. Navitas is headquartered in Herzliya and traded in Tel Aviv. Its Sea Lion project page says the company holds a 65% interest in the field about 220 kilometers north of the islands, with first oil planned for March 2028 after a final investment decision.
