Lumus Adds Crystal-Optech to Manufacture AR Glasses Waveguides in China

Ness Ziona-based Lumus signed a manufacturing agreement under which Zhejiang Crystal-Optech will produce its geometric waveguides for augmented-reality glasses. The deal extends Lumus’s manufacturing footprint into China, adding capacity and geographic diversification as customers move toward higher-volume commercialization. Crystal-Optech, a Lumus investor and collaborator since 2011, says it has shipped more than 30 billion optical components and operates production facilities in China and Vietnam. It joins Quanta Computer and SCHOTT as Lumus manufacturing partners, and will demonstrate Lumus waveguides at CIOE in Shenzhen from September 9 to 11.
