State Accounts Show War-Damage Compensation Fund Down to NIS 2 Billion

Israel's newly published consolidated state accounts show that the Property Tax Compensation Fund paid NIS 37 billion from the start of the war through the end of 2025 and another NIS 5 billion in 2026, leaving about NIS 2 billion. The fund's allocation rate returned to 25% in 2026 after rates of 80% in 2024 and 100% in 2025. The accounts cover about 89% of government entities and put cumulative war spending through the end of 2025 at NIS 231 billion. They also report a 67.9% debt-to-GDP ratio, NIS 1.4 trillion in government debt and NIS 718 billion in budgetary-pension liabilities.
