Airports Authority to End Ramon Night Operations, Affecting About 25 U.S. Tankers

The Israel Airports Authority will end nighttime operations at Ramon Airport from November 1, leaving about 25 U.S. Air Force refueling aircraft unable to take off or land there overnight. The tankers were moved from Ben Gurion Airport to Ramon to reduce pressure on civilian flight schedules. The authority cited a severe staffing shortage and sustained workload, and told its American counterpart to find alternative operational arrangements.
