Kafr Kanna Weapons Probe Brings 11 Indictments

Israeli police and the Shin Bet said a May 31 raid in Kafr Kanna, launched after a resident was suspected of security offenses, grew into a month-long weapons case with indictments against 11 defendants. Northern District investigators, Border Police tactical undercover officers and the Shin Bet traced weapons holdings across the village, seized seven weapons, and found two rifles hidden in a drawer at the home of a medically fragile resident. Two weapons were allegedly licensed but transferred unlawfully. The case matters beyond one Galilee village: illegal arms fuel Arab-community crime, and law-abiding citizens need determined enforcement before criminal weapons become terror tools.
