UK Court Jails Slough Man for Antisemitic Attack

A Reading Crown Court judge sentenced Shafiq Rahman, 48, of Slough, to 16 months in prison after he admitted an antisemitic attack on a Jewish building inspector working on Elliman Avenue on April 20. The victim was wearing a kippah when Rahman shouted antisemitic abuse, threatened him, tried to grab his phone and verbally abused bystanders who intervened. The sentence also accounted for a separate dangerous-dog injury case from June 2025. Police, the Community Security Trust and Shomrim welcomed the conviction as a clear consequence for anti-Jewish hatred and a reminder that visibly Jewish people must be protected in public life.
