Police officers from Lahav 433's national economic-crime unit and the official overseeing insolvency proceedings questioned several businesspeople, including current and former Likud figures, in a suspected asset-concealment scheme. Investigators suspect a contractor in bankruptcy proceedings since 2012 hid rights to real estate worth tens of millions of shekels and transferred assets under his control. Police said the suspects acted systematically to conceal those rights from authorities and retain large sums. Investigators seized substantial property when the covert inquiry became public, with possible forfeiture sought later in the legal process.
