Thirty families began permanent residence Thursday at the rebuilt Ganim community in northern Samaria, 21 years after its evacuation under the disengagement plan. A Ganim yeshiva affiliated with Bnei David in Eli is scheduled to open Sunday. The Samaria Regional Council is implementing the project with Amana, the Settlement Ministry and Settlement Division, within a 19-community northern Samaria program. Council head Yossi Dagan said Ganim would grow to ten times its former size, while community chairman Ilan Kotzky projected 1,000 families within a decade.
