NSW Gambling Authority Sought to Relinquish ClubGRANTS Oversight

New South Wales' Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority sought to relinquish oversight of ClubGRANTS, saying it lacked enough time for effective compliance checks. In a submission obtained under a parliamentary order, ILGA said applications from more than 500 clubs had to be reviewed within two weeks or less. Chair Caroline Lamb said the Chief Commissioner of State Revenue was better placed to administer the poker-machine tax-rebate program. Clubs reported A$127 million in 2025 grants, including A$53.3 million for sport, while the government said a broader review completed in January 2025 remains under consideration.
