India Requires Aadhaar Authentication for Subsidised LPG Refills From October 1

From October 1, domestic LPG consumers in India must complete biometric Aadhaar authentication to book refills at the regulated retail price with subsidy. Already-authenticated customers need take no further action, while unauthenticated users regain subsidised bookings after completing the process; others may buy 5 kg or 10 kg cylinders at market price, subject to availability. Authentication is available at delivery, distributor showrooms or through the three public-sector oil companies' apps. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry said 27.43 crore consumers, 89.9% of active domestic LPG users, had authenticated by September 19.
