Police Watchdog Questions Three Border Police Officers Suspected of Taking Parked Car

The Police Investigations Department, the Justice Ministry unit that probes police misconduct, said on September 24 that it had questioned three Border Police officers under caution the previous day on suspicion of offenses including vehicle theft, using a vehicle without permission and abuse of office. According to the department, the officers noticed a parked car with its keys inside during a patrol in the Jerusalem envelope, drove it without authority, damaged nearby cars and abandoned it without reporting to their commanders. The car has not yet been found. The three were released on condition that they stay away from police facilities for 15 days, and the department's Jerusalem team is continuing the investigation.
