Brazil Tops South American Games Medal Table With 122 Golds as Santa Fe 2026 Closes

The 2026 South American Games closed in Santa Fe, Argentina, on Saturday, September 26, with Brazil first in the medal table on 122 gold, 107 silver and 83 bronze medals, 312 in total. Host Argentina finished second with 81 golds and 293 medals, up from third place and 197 medals at Asunción 2022, according to the Argentine Olympic Committee. Colombia, Chile and Venezuela completed the top five. The Santa Fe provincial government said more than 4,000 athletes from 15 countries competed in 43 sports across Santa Fe, Rosario and Rafaela. ODESUR president Mario Moccia said more than 3.5 million people attended, the most in the Games' history.
