Danon's Office Says Nearly 40% of Instagram Viewers of His Starlink Video Are in Iran

Israeli U.N. Ambassador Danny Danon's office said his video offering a Starlink terminal to Iran's U.N. delegation has drawn about 9 million views, and that 39.9% of its Instagram viewers were in Iran, ahead of the United States at 14.3% and Israel at 12.6%. The video shows the Iranian representative refusing the device after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu displayed one in his General Assembly speech. A Danon representative said accounts the office believes are Iranian were recirculating a 2023 clip of former ambassador Gilad Erdan being escorted from the General Assembly, calling it a "disinformation campaign." "From our perspective, the Danon video moved something in Iran," the representative said.
