Chuppah LLC builds this website for everyone. Accessibility is engineered into every page — so readers of every ability can perceive, understand, navigate, and use it with confidence.
Our commitment
Accessibility is part of our design, engineering, editorial, and maintenance work every day. The whole site works out of the box — no special mode required — and a dedicated Accessibility mode is one tap away on every page, in every language, for readers who want larger text, stronger contrast, and bigger controls.
Scope
This statement covers thestateofisrael.com, its subdomains, and the iOS and Android apps published by Chuppah LLC — everything we build in-house is held to the same accessibility standards. Linked publications, embedded social posts, and community submissions remain the work of their authors; if one of them ever gets in your way, tell us and we will help you reach the same information another way.
Accessibility features
- The entire site can be driven from a keyboard — navigation, forms, dialogs, and interactive features — with a strong, always-visible focus indicator.
- A skip link in every language takes keyboard and screen-reader users straight to the main content, and page changes are announced to screen readers as you browse.
- A one-tap Accessibility mode enlarges all text to 125%, applies high-contrast palettes in both light and dark themes, grows every control to a comfortable touch size, underlines links, and strengthens focus indicators — on every page of the site.
- Motion respects your preferences: the Accessibility mode and your system's reduced-motion setting stop animations, smooth scrolling, tickers, and decorative effects instantly. Increased-contrast and Windows High Contrast preferences are honored automatically too.
- Every layout is responsive and supports browser zoom to 200% and beyond, text resizing, and touch, mouse, and keyboard input across phones, tablets, and desktops.
- The interface and every accessibility control are fully localized in ten languages — English, Hebrew, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Russian, French, German, Spanish, and Portuguese — with complete right-to-left support for Hebrew, Arabic, and Persian.
Standards and testing
The Site is designed and engineered to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, and that standard is built into how we work:
- Automated accessibility testing runs against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA success criteria across pages, dialogs, sign-in and account states, languages, and right-to-left layouts — release after release.
- Contrast, focus visibility, target size, and legibility rules are part of our design system and enforced in code, in both the standard presentation and the Accessibility mode.
- Every feature we build ships against those same standards — from the news reader and community spaces to the mobile apps.
Feedback and support
Want any page or feature in another format? We will gladly provide the same information or function in the way that works best for you — email, plain text, phone read-back, or a simplified page — promptly and at no cost.
We read every message, acknowledge substantive reports within seven days, and put anything affecting access to core content or account functions at the top of the queue — with an accessible alternative provided right away whenever one is needed.
