Iran's Defense Ministry Says Strategic Military Capabilities Were Moved Underground

Iran's Defense Ministry spokesman, Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik, said on Saturday that part of the armed forces' strategic capabilities had been placed in secure environments and underground infrastructure in recent years. Speaking to clerics and political instructors in Alborz Province, he claimed this kept part of the enemy's calculations about Iran's defensive power and weapons-production capacity from being realized. Talaei-Nik acknowledged that the recent wars, which he called the second and third imposed wars, brought costs and damage to Iran. He asserted that its enemies still failed to reach strategic goals he listed, including weakening Iran's nuclear program, missile power, regional influence and navy.
