Head of National Counter Terrorism Policing Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said five men arrested near RAF Fairford are being released on police bail after interviews and further inquiries. Police said the men had been travelling in three vehicles and were initially arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act, then on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act. The bail terms restrict their movement and contact with others. Taylor said the investigation continues along multiple lines and a cordon remained in place. Police have not established a motive and are examining whether foreign-state proxies were involved.
