Nigeria Approves Upgrades to Onne, Rivers, Delta and Calabar Ports

Nigeria's maritime minister, Adegboyega Oyetola, said the federal government had approved modernization and upgrades for the ports of Onne, Rivers, Delta and Calabar. He announced the decision on September 27 and said it extends a port-renewal programme that had already covered Apapa and Tin Can Island in Lagos. The minister said the four additional ports would help distribute maritime activity beyond Lagos and improve cargo handling and trade.
