Police and the Shin Bet said Friday that Mohammed Halaf, a 25-year-old resident of Baqa al-Gharbiyye, was arrested in recent weeks on suspicion of contacting Iranian entities. Investigators alleged that he communicated online with a hostile entity and carried out a series of tasks for payment. The joint investigation involved Asher-area police investigators and Lahav 433’s Cyber Unit, and police said it had concluded with sufficient evidence. Police said Haifa District prosecutors were expected to submit an indictment Friday at Haifa District Court for offenses of contact with a foreign agent.
