IDF Commanders Review October 7 Lessons as Zamir Sets 2027 War Review

IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir designated 2027 as the year for investigating the entire war and drawing its lessons at a commanders' conference at Camp Glilot on Sunday. Officers from brigadier general upward reviewed the October 7 investigations and mechanisms for implementing and monitoring their findings. Zamir said the army needed to expand its ranks and outlined a strategy for surprise-war scenarios. The conference also opened a broader process of learning from the war, beyond the investigations into the October 7 attack.
