Joyce Says One Nation Will Lease Rinehart-Owned Brisbane Headquarters

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of an archival 2008 Brisbane city skyline across the South Bank lagoon, with two children at the water’s edge and palms and rocks at right; city context, not the One Nation headquarters or the October 2026 lease announcement, rendered in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel strokes.

One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce said on Monday that the party would commercially lease its new Brisbane headquarters from billionaire Gina Rinehart. Hanrine Investments, a subsidiary of Hancock Prospecting, bought the three-storey inner-city office for A$8 million. Joyce said the building remained hers and the party would lease it at commercial rates, while defending her right to spend her money and saying One Nation pays its own costs rather than charging taxpayers. A Hancock spokesperson said the tenant would receive neither free accommodation nor reduced rent.
