Zelensky Calls Trump’s Russian Diesel Deal Unfair During U.S.-Ukraine Talks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called President Donald Trump's diesel agreement with Vladimir Putin unfair and dishonest in a Friday phone interview. Trump announced the agreement as Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Ukrainian and European officials in Miami about ending Russia's war in Ukraine. Zelensky compared the deal to a birthday gift for Putin and said Ukrainian negotiators were being used as cover for it. In a separate statement, he said sanctions relief without lasting, reciprocal de-escalation helps Russia prolong the war. He said Ukraine would stop attacking Russian refineries if Russia stopped destroying Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
