Bowen Says Australia Will Keep Russian Fuel Out as U.S. Announces Diesel Deal

Australian Energy Minister Chris Bowen said on October 10 that Australia would continue keeping Russian fuel out of its supply chain after the United States announced a Russian diesel agreement. Speaking in western Sydney, he said arrangements with trading partners were intended to prevent Russian fuel reaching Australia and linked the policy to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Bowen reported stocks equivalent to 43 days of petrol, 31 days of diesel and 30 days of jet fuel. He said 51 supply ships were heading to Australia. Some 3.2 billion litres of fuel were contracted for delivery over the following four weeks.
