Isaias Becomes Post-Tropical Over Alabama as Flooding Risk Continues

Isaias rapidly weakened into a post-tropical cyclone over Alabama, the National Hurricane Center said in its final advisory at 09:00 UTC on October 10. Maximum sustained winds fell to 35 mph, and all storm-surge and tropical-storm warnings were discontinued. Forecasters expected 4–8 inches of rain across southern Alabama, the Florida Panhandle and Big Bend, and southwest Georgia through the weekend, with localized totals up to 15 inches. Flash, urban and river flooding remained possible, while considerable flash flooding and landslides could affect the Southern Appalachians. The system was forecast to move toward the Tennessee Valley and dissipate Sunday.
