Keiko Fujimori Urges Peru’s Congress to Define Its Position on Fighting Crime

Peru’s President Keiko Fujimori urged Congress to define its position on fighting crime on October 10, as she presented the Unified Command’s first actions at Army headquarters in Lima. The command brings together Armed Forces and National Police personnel. She called the initial results a first step in a long, difficult process and said the government’s strategy was irreversible, with no turning back. Fujimori promised periodic public reports with figures, statistics and images, and asked businesses, the justice system and organizations holding telecommunications and financial information to cooperate.
