Man Charged With Two Murders After Christchurch Double Homicide

New Zealand Police said a 58-year-old man has been charged with two counts of murder after a double homicide in Phillipstown, Christchurch. He also faces one charge of attempted murder and one of wounding with intent, and is due in Christchurch District Court on October 12. Police were called to the address around 12:50 a.m. on October 10; two people died at the scene and two others were taken to hospital with serious injuries. Detective Inspector Greg Murton said police believed the incident was isolated and were not seeking anyone else at that stage.
