Messages Detail Alleged Child Sexual-Exploitation Scheme in Rio Investigation

Intercepted messages disclosed Sunday detail what Rio investigators describe as a scheme to recruit children and adolescents for sexual exploitation linked to professor and lawyer Cordovil Antônio Nogueira Martins. Police allege participants arranged visits to his Grajaú home in Rio de Janeiro's northern zone and discussed payments or gifts. Martins has been detained since March. Luiz Alberto Martins Sobrinho was arrested Saturday in Gávea, while Mariana de Oliveira Minas was arrested in Nova Iguaçu. Police said they were still seeking Ariane Minas.
