Zelensky Says Russia Hit Ukrainian Energy Sites After Trump’s Ceasefire Announcement

President Volodymyr Zelensky said a Russian Shahed drone struck a power plant in Kyiv, leaving many districts without electricity, just before his conversation with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. He reported subsequent strikes on energy facilities in the Kharkiv region and said the attacks followed President Donald Trump’s statement about an energy ceasefire. Zelensky thanked von der Leyen for €1.24 billion in defense funding already received and confirmation of approximately €3 billion in military support the following week. He said their teams would discuss further joint actions and coordination.
