eThekwini Leaders Seek Court Order Against DA’s ‘Water Tanker Mafia’ Billboard

Mayor Cyril Xaba, city manager Musa Mbhele and senior official Ednick Msweli have asked the Durban High Court to order the Democratic Alliance to remove online publications linked to its “water tanker mafia” billboard. Their affidavits argue that the material falsely associates them with criminal activity, corruption and dishonesty. They seek removal within 24 hours after the hearing and a retraction within 72 hours, displayed for 14 days. DA mayoral candidate Haniff Hoosen says the billboard was a call to action rather than an accusation of criminal involvement and that the party will defend its position.
