Nigeria Files Fresh Charge Against Adeyemi After Federal Court Strikes Out Case

Nigeria's Federal High Court in Abuja struck out an eight-count charge against Adeniyi Adeyemi on Monday after prosecutors requested withdrawal. Judge Mohammed Umar granted the application, which defence lawyer Ibrahim Angulu did not oppose. Federal prosecution director Rotimi Oyedepo said the attorney-general's review identified jurisdiction issues, with alleged forgery involving the purported PFIPC agency belonging before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory. Oyedepo told the court a fresh charge had already been filed there and Adeyemi would be arraigned without delay. The withdrawal did not end the prosecution.
