Petro Says His Daughters Will Sue Semana’s Owner Over Allegations Against Alcocer

Gustavo Petro said on October 12 that his daughters would sue the owner of Semana after the magazine accused their mother, Verónica Alcocer, of serious crimes. Colombia's presidency said on October 10 that President Abelardo De La Espriella had ordered an investigation into allegations by Alcocer's former adviser Eva Ferrer involving drugs, money and state aircraft. The Air Force's General Inspectorate and counterintelligence bodies were tasked with investigating current and former personnel associated with the Military Transport Air Command, known as CATAM. De La Espriella also asked Colombian judicial and oversight bodies and U.S. authorities to investigate within their respective powers.
