Saudi-Led Coalition Says It Intercepted Houthi Ballistic Missile Aimed at Riyadh

The Saudi-led coalition said on October 12 that it intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward Riyadh, the Saudi capital. Separately, Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation extended the suspension of operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The aviation authority said the extension would allow safety and operational-readiness procedures at airport facilities to be completed in coordination with relevant authorities. Neither statement specified casualties from the interception or supplied a date for the airport to reopen.
