UAE Adviser Gargash Calls for Stronger Joint Gulf Security and Defence
Published
Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to the UAE president, called on Monday for stronger joint Gulf security and defence cooperation. In a post on X, he said attacks on Saudi Arabia undermine the security of the UAE and all Gulf states, describing their security as indivisible. He urged Gulf countries to revive joint action and strengthen collective security. Gargash said serious shortcomings in collective security had encouraged others to target Gulf states. He described Gulf security as a shared responsibility that could not tolerate complacency or delay.
