Lee Pledges Sanctions Compliance as South Korea Develops Arctic Shipping Route

President Lee Jae Myung said on October 13 that South Korea would develop Arctic shipping while respecting international norms and sanctions principles, consulting key partners and addressing their concerns. Speaking at a Busan ceremony, he said the route should serve shared prosperity rather than one country's exclusive interests. He pledged further operating experience and investment in safety and environmental technology. The ceremony welcomed the PanStar Acro, which returned to Busan on October 11 after a 50-day round trip to Europe, South Korea's first such container-vessel voyage through the Arctic.
