Iranian Foreign Minister Blames Israel for Egypt Tanker Strike

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused Israel of responsibility for the drone strike that set two natural-gas vessels ablaze at Egypt’s Damietta Port, calling it a false-flag operation. Other Iranian officials separately said Tehran carried out the strike to demonstrate its ability to disrupt shipping and global energy supplies, while Araghchi did not directly deny Iranian involvement. Egypt’s prime minister said investigators recovered drone debris and were working to determine its origin. No injuries were reported, and Egypt has not assigned responsibility while its investigation continues.
