IAEA Reviews Darkhovin Strike Report, Sees No Radiological Risk

The International Atomic Energy Agency said it was examining reports of an overnight attack on the construction site of Iran's planned Darkhovin nuclear power plant. The watchdog said the facility was in very early construction and held no nuclear material when inspectors last visited, so the reported attack was not believed to pose a radiological risk. It contacted Iran and promised further information. Satellite imagery dated July 9 showed earth clearing but very little construction, while Iran's atomic agency had earlier accused the United States of striking the site.
