U.S. Embassy Warns Americans to Consider Leaving the Middle East

The U.S. Embassy in Amman urged Americans currently in the Middle East to exercise heightened caution and consider departing as regional tensions raise the risk of unforeseen escalation. The embassy told travelers to prepare for flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures and other disruptions, and advised people outside the region to reconsider travel through it. It described Iran’s regime as unpredictable, citing recent attacks without warning and strikes on places not previously targeted, including Egypt. Americans in Jordan were also told to avoid military bases, monitor official alerts and follow local authorities’ instructions.
