Israel Raises Security Concerns Over Hamas Disarmament Deal

Israel raised serious security concerns with the White House over the proposed Hamas disarmament deal, according to Prime Minister's Office international spokesperson Doron Spielman. He said Israel's intelligence assessment is that Hamas remains committed to rearming and rebuilding its military capabilities. Israel will not withdraw from Gaza before Hamas physically surrenders its weapons, because an earlier redeployment could let the terrorist group restore its presence and threaten another October 7-style attack. The U.S.-brokered plan links weapons transfers, tunnel dismantlement and phased Israeli withdrawal to the arrival of a Palestinian technocratic committee and international forces.
