Nur Shams Commander Indicted Over Bombing That Killed Reservist Yehuda Geto

Israel's military prosecution filed an indictment in the Samaria Military Court against Kamal Khatib, described as the commander of the Nur Shams terror battalion, over the July 1, 2024 roadside bombing near Tulkarem. Prosecutors say Khatib and other operatives remotely detonated a powerful device by mobile phone as a security-forces vehicle passed, killing Sgt. First Class (res.) Yehuda Geto and seriously wounding another security officer. The charges include intentionally causing death, attempted intentionally causing death, leading an unlawful association, arms trafficking and planting explosives. The indictment also accuses Khatib of recruiting operatives, financing terror activity and directing surveillance, weapons production and attacks across Samaria.
