Sohlberg Orders Bennett to Cut IDF Soldiers and Artillery Footage From Campaign Video

Central Elections Committee chairman Noam Sohlberg ordered Naftali Bennett on Wednesday to cut clips of IDF soldiers in operational activity and a firing artillery gun from a Beyachad campaign video, upholding a Likud petition. The 23-second video attacks Haredi draft evasion, with military footage running behind its call to draft everyone. Sohlberg ruled the clips were not marginal and that IDF uniforms and weaponry create an identification between the army and a party's messages, prohibited use of public assets under the election propaganda law. He ordered only those clips removed rather than disqualifying the video, and recommended extra caution campaign-wide on visuals with soldiers or weapons.
